Class Description: Saffron has been utilized for over 20,000 years as a pigment, dye, spice, and medicine. While it is the world’s most expensive spice by weight, it is also surprisingly easy to grow your own saffron in the home garden. We will discuss the history and uses of saffron as well as the means by which you can cultivate your own. Saffron mint tea will be provided for tasting – participants are encouraged to bring a heat-resistant vessel. Link to Class Handout
