battle of the 300

October 11 – 19, 2025

Registration will be open and available no later than June 15th, 2025. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay. Thank you for your excitement and anticipation for War of the Wings 300!!

“Go tell the Spartans, stranger passing by,
That here we lie, having answered our common oaths.”

Simonides of Ceos

It is the 5th Century BCE, the setting is Ancient Greece. The Kings of the Achaemenid Empire, first King Darius, then his son King Xerxes, have set their sights on adding southern Greece to their vast lands, which stretch from the Indus valley in the east, past the Caspian and Black seas to Macedon in the west, and south to encompass Egypt and much of Northern Africa.

The invaders

The massive armies of Persia, estimated to number in the hundreds of thousands, are grouping in Thrace and Macedon on the east coast of the Grecian peninsula before marching towards the coastal pass at Thermopylae. Intent on punishing Athens and Sparta for their resistance to earler invasion, Xerxes must march his forces, including his elite warriors called The Immortals, through the chokepoint at Thermopylae, where only a few soldiers can fight abreast, in order to reach the Greek mainland.

The Defenders

A coalition led by King Leonidas of Sparta and comprised of a few thousand Spartans, Thebans, Thespians, and other Greek allies, with 300 elite Spartan warriors at its core, is the only thing standing between Xerxes’ Persian horde and all of Greece. Though vastly outnumbered, King Leonidas decides to delay the Persian advance at Thermopylae. The discipline, armor, and phalanx tactics of his 300 Spartans gives them a powerful defensive edge in the confined terrain of the narrow pass.

For whom will you fight?

Will you become an Immortal and join the thunderous advance of King Xerxes’ massive Persian army as it sweeps across the Greek landscape, determined to crush all resistance under a tide of soldiers, archers, and chariots?

Or will you stand with King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans —unyielding, unbroken—as they defy overwhelming odds to defend their homeland?

Feel the clash of bronze and the roar of battle as these heroes carve their names into history with valor, sacrifice, and unshakable honor!
