In the 16th century, Seville was a global city. It was the only port in Europe where the vast wealth pillaged from New Spain was imported. The city became known for it criminal underbelly as much as it’s trade. We’ll delve into “The Great Babylon of Spain” and see what crime and punishment looked like in one of the most cosmopolitan cities of the 1500’s.
