War of the Wings
Stephen vs Matilda
In the dark of a November night in 1120, the White Ship struck a rock off the Norman coast and went down with nearly every soul aboard. Among the dead was William Adelin, only legitimate son of King Henry I, heir to England and Normandy.
Fifteen years later, every great lord in England swore a sacred oath to honor Henry’s daughter Matilda as their queen. Every one of them. They placed their hands on holy relics and swore.
And then, the moment Henry was in the ground, one man broke it.
What followed was nineteen years of war. Brother against brother. Cousin against cousin. A country with no king and two claims to the crown.
THIS OCTOBER, YOU PICK A SIDE.
Choose Your Side
